Use this roadmap to plan missables, cleanup, and the most efficient route to the platinum in Final Fantasy XVI.

Roadmap

Stage 1 — First playthrough

  • Play through the story normally. Almost everything will unlock naturally as you progress. The only genuinely missable trophy is Half Past Twilight — don’t sell crafting materials needed for the Gotterdammerung until you’ve crafted it.
  • Complete side content as it appears where convenient; some side quests become unavailable after major story beats.
  • DLC trophies are covered in separate guides (Echoes of the Fallen, The Rising Tide).

Stage 2 — Miscellaneous clean-up

  • After finishing the story you can collect remaining side quests, hunts (Notorious Marks), Chronolith Trials and world locations. Many combat trophies are earned during open-area fights; Hall of Virtue battles don’t count.
  • Chronolith Trials grant curiosities needed for For the Hoard; do all of them.

Stage 3 — New Game+ (“Final Fantasy” mode)

  • Unlocks after your first clear. Your level, gear and consumables carry over; the mode raises level cap and offers stronger loot.
  • Use this run to finish any remaining AP-based Eikon masteries (see Masterclass).
